Hyundai has announced an update to the Bayon compact crossover SUV. In addition to the aforementioned daytime running lights, the car received a new grille and a different wheel design, as well as a standard 10.25-inch infotainment system screen.

A full-size daytime running light cluster is nothing new to Hyundai and is found even on the Staria MPV model. However, the compact Bayon was earlier deprived of this privilege. This omission has now been rectified.

There are also some minor changes to the bumpers and grille, which reduce the amount of body-coloured plastic at the front in favour of black. At the rear, there is also more black plastic and new shaped reversing lights in the bumper. In addition, four new colours have been added to the Bayon model's palette.

The Bayon's interior was already quite technologically advanced thanks to the 10.25-inch digital dashboard that was standard in some markets. At the same time, the main infotainment screen was a rather small 8-inch screen, and a 10.25-inch screen could be ordered at an extra cost. For the 2024 model year, the large display will be standard on all equipment levels.

Hyundai hasn't mentioned powertrains, which should mean that Bayon buyers will continue to choose from two versions of the same 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine. The base variant produces 100bhp and 172Nm, while its senior version develops 120bhp and the same 172Nm.

There is no information on pricing or sales launch dates yet. The current Hyundai Bayon costs from 21,115 euros in Germany. It is likely that the updated car will be a little more expensive.
