Ford Mustang available as a coupe or convertible with six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission.

The Euro-spec 2024 Ford Mustang closely resembles its American counterpart, with a muscular design infused with classic styling cues. Highlights include sleek LED headlights, an aggressive grille and a revised colour palette that includes three new shades known as Blue Ember, Vapor Blue and Yellow Splash.

Ford also noted that the convertible has a "fully lined and insulated roof" that can be raised or lowered in eight seconds. Despite the retractable roof, the model still has enough boot space to fit two golf bags.

Inside, there is a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch infotainment system. The latter has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a 5G connection to stream music and show real-time traffic information. The display also runs the Unreal gaming engine, allowing for immersive graphics and extensive customisation.

The Euro-spec Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 that produces 328 kW / 446 hp and 540 Nm of torque. That's less than the US model, which produces 358 kW / 487 hp and 562 Nm. With the available active-valve performance exhaust, the US figures rise to 362 kW / 493 hp and 566 Nm.

The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or a ten-speed automatic. A performance package is standard, including Brembo brakes and a limited slip differential. Customers can also get an optional MagneRide suspension, which adjusts a thousand times per second to provide "the best possible control and comfort".

Customers looking for more power can opt for the Dark Horse, which has an upgraded 5.0-litre V8 making 333 kW / 453 hp and 540 Nm of torque. This is an abomination, however, as the US-spec model delivers a thunderous 373 kW / 507 hp and 566 Nm of torque.

The reduced output can probably be blamed on government regulations, but the model "benefits from unique chassis tuning, including larger rear anti-roll bars, heavy-duty front dampers, a front strut tower brace and a rear K-brace". The model also features 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tyres.

Other highlights include a standard Performance Pack. The latter adds an auxiliary engine oil cooler, lightweight radiator and rear axle cooler. Buyers will also find a limited slip differential and an electronic drift brake.

Drifting aside, there's a host of driver assistance systems, including intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning and collision avoidance. There's also reverse emergency braking and traffic sign recognition with speed limit assistance.

The redesigned car is now available to order. The Mustang GT starts at €59,900 in Germany and €86,000 in Austria.
