Drivers of Ford electric cars will be the first to use Tesla Supercharger stations, with other brands to follow.

Tesla Supercharger stations are becoming available for electric vehicles from other brands. Ford was the first manufacturer to announce the switch to Tesla's NACS-designed charging connector, so Blue Oval customers were first in line.

For Ford, that means Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning or E-Transit owners can now use more than 15,000 Tesla fast charging stations in the U.S. and Canada through the adapter.

Drivers of General Motors, Rivian, Volvo and Polestar electric cars will also be able to use Tesla Supercharger stations throughout the spring.

Tesla has yet to schedule other manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Their cars will also use the adapter before new models get a standard NACS connector from 2025.

The tariffs have also become known. Customers in Ford vehicles pay about 30 per cent more per kilowatt hour than Tesla drivers. In order to avoid overpaying, a $13 per month Supercharging Membership subscription is required.
