Sales of the all-wheel drive ID.Buzz in Europe will start this summer. It will also be sold in the US, but at a later date.

The new Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX has all-wheel drive with two electric motors by default. There are two versions: with a standard wheelbase combined with a 79 kWh battery, and with a long wheelbase and an 86 kWh battery.

The power output of the two motors is 340 bhp. The electric van accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, and the top speed is limited at 160 km/h. The range is unknown, but the charging speed is revealed: the smaller version supports 185 kW of power and charges from 10 to 80 per cent in 25 minutes, while the larger battery will take about 30 minutes with a 200 kW terminal.

In addition, the ID.Buzz GTX has been promised special chassis customisations.

On the outside, the ID.Buzz GTX stands out from the regular ID.Buzz with updated bumpers and boomerang-shaped LED elements. The car in the press release photos is painted in a bright Cherry Red colour combined with dark accents. The wheels are 19 inches in diameter, but 21-inch wheels are also available for an extra charge.

In the cabin, the ID.Buzz GTX has a 12.9-inch touchscreen instead of the standard 12-inch screen and a black ceiling. The updated multimedia system is more capable and faster than the previous one. It also has an IDA voice assistant based on ChatGPT AI. A projection display is available as an optional extra.

In addition, the "long" version can be supplemented with a panoramic sunroof, which Volkswagen describes as the largest in the world. The degree of transparency of the glass changes at the touch of a button.

VW has not yet disclosed prices for the ID.Buzz GTX. In the US, this van will appear exclusively with a long wheelbase, three rows of seats, two motors and an 86 kWh battery, but without the GTX badge.
