The off-road vehicle name from the 1990s is now used on a crossover with electric drive or 48-volt hybrid engines.

Visually, the new Opel Frontera differs greatly from its crossover predecessor, the Crossland, as well as from its 1990s namesake. It features a slightly more robust and simplified interpretation of the manufacturer's current design language.

The black Vizor integrates ECO LED headlights with automatic high beam and the Opel blitz logo. It is visually complemented by a trapezoidal radiator opening in the lower third of the front.

The manufacturer states that the interior design is cleverly designed and suitable for everyday use. The well-known Pure Panel cockpit features two 10-inch displays, multimedia infotainment, and a newly designed steering wheel. For the first time, a smartphone station is available for those who prefer to use their own mobile device.

However, with this standard system, an additional payment is required for the second 10-inch display. Mobile devices can be charged using a charging cradle or one of the four USB ports.

With the rear seats up, the trunk holds more than 460 liters of luggage. With the seats folded down (60:40 ratio available as an option), the volume increases to 1,600 liters. The second load floor is standard. Roof rails for a roof load of 200 kg can be ordered as an option. However, there is no mention of a tow bar in this first information package about the Frontera.

As for the powertrain, you can choose between a fully electric version and engines with 48-volt hybrid technology. There are no official figures yet, but a look at the electric sister model Citroën e-C3 and, for example, the Opel Corsa with 48V drives should be enough to answer all possible questions. This means The electric car will have 113 hp and a range of about 320 km, the two gasoline engines should have 101 or 136 hp.
