MAXUS has unveiled the eTerron 9, a new electric pickup truck, at IAA Hannover. The company, owned by SAIC, aims to enter the European market with this larger-than-average offering.

The eTerron 9 stands out as Europe's first 4x4 electric serial pickup truck built on a dedicated electric platform. MAXUS has designed the vehicle with a "New Electrified Mecha" look, giving it a distinctive appearance.

At 5,500 mm long, the eTerron 9 is 140 mm longer than the Ford Ranger and 175 mm longer than the Toyota Hilux. The truck's exterior features a fully enclosed grille with vertical headlights and C-shaped daytime running lights. A powered frunk with 236 liters of space adds to its practicality.

The eTerron 9's edgy bodywork and plastic cladding give it a rugged look. A power tailgate and an Avalanche-like midgate extend the bed into the cabin at the touch of a button, allowing it to haul items up to 2,400 mm long.

Inside, the eTerron 9 boasts two-tone leather, freestanding displays, and metallic accents. The interior includes 20 storage compartments and an eight-way power driver's seat with ventilation and massage functions.

The truck's performance is impressive. It uses a lithium iron phosphate battery with a 102 kWh capacity, providing a range of 430 km on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging at 115 kW DC can take the battery from 20% to 80% in about 40 minutes. The eTerron 9 also features a Vehicle to Load function, powering multiple 2.2 kW and 6.6 kW outlets.

The eTerron 9's dual motor all-wheel drive system delivers a total output of 436 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to km/h  in 5.8 seconds.

MAXUS has not yet announced pricing or availability for the eTerron 9. The company will likely provide more details as it prepares for the truck's European launch.
