The Toyota bZ3X comes courtesy of a joint venture between Toyota and GAC and is unified in many ways with the GAC Aion V. The new model was unveiled in December, but sales have only started now. Looking at what buyers will get for their money, it's easy to see why the bZ3X is so popular.
The price starts at 109,800 yuan (~$15,000), an extremely competitive offer for a 4.6-metre crossover close in size to the Toyota RAV4. Even though the model is front-wheel drive and only has single-engine versions.
Three LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries are available:
- 50.03 kWh, range 430 kilometres (CLTC)
- 58.37 kWh, range 520 km (CLTC).
- 67.92 kWh, range 610 km (CLTC)
Power:
- Base versions - 204 hp.
- Top 610 Max - 224 hp.

- 430 Air (~$15,000) - base version
- 430 Air+ (~$16,500) - extended equipment
- 520 Pro ($16,700) - extended battery
- 520 Pro+ ($19,300) - larger battery + equipment
- 610 Max (~$22,000) - maximum range.
520 Pro - autopilot version running the Nvidia Drive AGX Orin X processor. Has 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radar, 3mm-wave radar and LiDAR.

Prior to the bZ3X, Toyota already had two all-electric bZ-series cars in China: the bZ4X crossover and the bZ3 sedan developed with BYD. According to CarNewsChina bZ4X deliveries in China have already stopped, while bZ3 sales are pretty good. The company sold 3,510 units in January, up 45 per cent from a year earlier.
