The premium sub-brand of Chery, Exeed, has opened orders for the flagship crossover EX7. Essentially, this is an updated and adapted for international markets version of the Exlantix ET model (also known as Sterra ET in China). To reserve a spot in line, potential buyers are offered to make a deposit of 999 yuan - approximately $145. Interestingly, upon purchase, this deposit transforms into a discount of 2999 yuan or $435. The full-fledged launch of sales in China is scheduled for mid-April, after which the car will go on to conquer more than 20 countries, including Europe and South America.
Platform and Dimensions
The Exeed EX7 is built on the modern E0X platform, allowing the use of both purely electric powertrains and hybrid systems with range extenders. The car has impressive dimensions: a length of 4988 mm, a width of 1975 mm, and a height of 1710 mm. The wheelbase of 3000 mm provides royal space in the cabin, which is critically important for competition with players like Li Auto L8 or Aito M8.

The exterior of the crossover is executed in the current corporate style: two-level front optics, a solid LED strip under the hood, and minimalist side panels with hidden door handles. The rear part attracts attention with "recessed" lights across the width of the body, with integrated dynamic turn indicators.
Technological Features and Future Batteries
One of the main technical features of the Exeed EX7 is the appearance of an aviation-class electromechanical braking system (EMB). This solution allows for more precise control of deceleration and integration of the brakes into the automated control system.
Initially, EX7 will receive Rhino series batteries with liquid electrolyte. However, Chery has already confirmed that tests of solid-state Rhino S batteries with an energy density of more than 400 Wh/kg will begin within the year. This could potentially allow electric cars to travel up to 1500 km on a single charge.

Powertrains and Range
Two main options will be offered to buyers:
- Hybrid (EREV): 1.5-liter turbo engine acts as a generator, while electric motors are responsible for turning the wheels. Batteries with a capacity of about 40 kWh provide a purely electric range of 182 to 203 km.
- Electric Vehicle (BEV): version with two motors (123 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear). With a 97.7 kWh battery, this crossover can travel 682-726 km according to the Chinese measurement cycle.

The interior of the EX7 continues the theme of "digital minimalism". A huge 30-inch integrated display takes center stage, combining multimedia for the driver and front passenger. The steering wheel has an oval shape with two spokes, and instead of the usual rearview mirror, a monitor displays the camera image. The base package promises leather upholstery, a panoramic roof, and wireless charging for smartphones.
