Chery unveiled the Arrizo X concept at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show as a design and engineering study for its next-generation fuel and hybrid sedans.

At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Chery decided to remind everyone that sedans are not just about boring office commutes but also about fighting airflows. The Arrizo X concept was the main exhibit on the stand, boasting an ambitious drag coefficient of 0.196 Cd. This figure puts the Chinese newcomer in line with the most aerodynamically efficient production cars in the world.

The design of Arrizo X is a manifesto of minimalism. The body features the silhouette of a four-door coupe with a sloping fastback roof. There is not a single unnecessary detail to impede the air: a closed front end, a continuous LED strip across the width, hidden door handles, and special aerodynamic wheels. Even the "duck tail" rear spoiler is so delicately integrated that it seems to be part of the body’s overall plasticity rather than a separate element.

Under the hood: more than just electricity

Interestingly, despite the general trend towards full electrification, Chery is not rushing to write off internal combustion engines. The Arrizo X has a 2.0-liter turbo engine from the Kunpeng family, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). This hints that the serial implementation of the concept will be oriented towards hybrid platforms rather than exclusively battery versions. Although the possibility of using solid-state batteries was actively discussed in the exhibition’s backrooms, there are no official technical details on this yet.

Special attention was paid to the chassis. The car features a CDC electromagnetic suspension system capable of adapting the stiffness of the dampers in real time. The system uses data from the front cameras to "predict" the road surface, preparing the suspension for potholes before the wheel even touches them.

Digital cockpit and autonomy

Inside, the concept offers the new Lingxi 3.0 ecosystem. The main feature is voice control using the "see and say" principle, allowing interaction with any interface element without unnecessary touches. A new chip processes requests in milliseconds to ensure fast response times. The Falcon 700 ADAS complex, built on an end-to-end architecture of large models, is responsible for safety and driver assistance, theoretically allowing the system to learn from real road situations.

The Arrizo X occupies a position step above the recently introduced Arrizo S, which is already closer to the assembly line and delivers 192 kW (261 hp). However, despite the technological brilliance, the situation for the brand in the domestic market remains challenging. According to CarNewsChina, the company’s sales in China dropped by 26.4% in the first half of 2026 compared to last year, totaling 112,884 units. A market share of 2.7% forces the manufacturer to aggressively expand the lineup, as seen with the flagship Tiggo X crossover and the sub-brands Jetour and Exeed.
