The BMW Isetta was produced from 1955 to 1962. Initially, this model was developed by the Italian company Iso SpA, and BMW finalized the body and installed its power unit from a motorcycle. The car has one door at the front, 247 cc 1-cylinder engine. cm, which in its best years could produce up to 12 hp. and a 4-speed chain driven transmission. Despite the unusual design, the Isetta was in demand and the total circulation of the model was 161,728 copies.
One of these cars was left abandoned in the forest. For 40 years, the Isetta has been covered in rust and moss. Corrosion turned out to be so extensive that some elements of the body, in particular the bottom, simply ceased to exist. But the external panels and power elements of the body were preserved, and the specialists managed to restore the transmission and engine to working capacity.
The microcar was shod in 10-inch tires, cleaned, washed and taken to the road. It was very noisy, but Isetta was able to accelerate to 70 km/h. Here's how it happened:
