High mileage trucks will share spare parts with their brethren. Of course, not free, but much cheaper than new parts.

Renault Trucks' 3,000 m2 dedicated plant is located at the company's production facility in Lyon-Venicier, France, next to the company's logistics centre. There is a so-called reverse line for dismantling decommissioned trucks.

Renault explains that its trucks and their components are designed for over 1.5 million kilometers. However, not all cars survive to such indicators on the odometer, which means that they contain elements that can still be used on other cars of similar models. Everything that can be repaired will be repaired, the rest will be disposed of.

Elements of the engine, gearboxes, cabin, fuel tanks, bumpers, headlights and more can be selected for reuse. At the same time, even those structural elements that are determined to be unsuitable for further use, such as a steel frame, can be sent to the nearest foundry to be melted down into parts for a new car.

Components intended for reuse are checked, cleaned and labeled accordingly. These used parts will then be sent to the nearest Renault Trucks parts store with the designation "Used Parts by Renault Trucks". These used parts will be covered by the manufacturer's warranty and will be on average 50-60% cheaper than new parts.
