Xiaomi has submitted applications to register a range of Chinese and English trademarks, including "Xiaomi Automobile Gigafactory," "Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory," "Xiaomi Titan," "Xiaomi Titan Alloy," and "Xiaomi Super Motor."

Currently, these trademark applications are under review by the China National Intellectual Property Administration Trademark Office.

As early as July 2019, Xiaomi Communication Technology Co., Ltd. expanded its business scope to include "sales of auto parts." On November 12, 2020, Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. filed a patent application for lithium battery electrodes and lithium batteries. Then, on March 30, 2021, Xiaomi announced a 10 billion yuan investment over the next decade to establish itself as one of the world's top five automobile manufacturers.

Xiaomi unveiled its first vehicle model, the SU7, last year. At the Xiaomi Auto Technology Conference in December, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO, introduced Xiaomi Auto's five core technologies: electric powertrain, battery technology, large die-casting, smart cockpit, and autonomous driving. Lei Jun also emphasized that Xiaomi is China's sole car manufacturer with mass production capabilities for self-developed alloy materials.

Following the official announcement of its entry into the automotive industry, Xiaomi's initial project focused on motor development. This endeavor yielded two motors: the HyperEngine V6 and V8, both currently in mass production and set to be featured in the first batch of Xiaomi SU7 models.

Additionally, Xiaomi has independently developed an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, boasting a maximum voltage of 871V. Furthermore, Xiaomi is collaborating with CATL to jointly develop an 800V high-voltage battery pack. It's worth noting that Xiaomi has also established its own battery production facility.

The Xiaomi SU7 offers two CLTC cruising ranges, 668 km and 800 km, respectively. The 800V super-fast charging platform can add 220 km of range with just 5 minutes of charging or 510 km in 15 minutes.
