The Gyesera is Karma Automotive's first all-electric model, given that the previously announced GSe-6 never went into production.

It's been almost four years since Karma Automotive announced its first full electric vehicle based on the Revero plug-in hybrid. Now, the California-based brand has finally unveiled the new Gyesera at the Amelia Concours d'Elegance. This four-door grand tourer is a heavily redesigned version of the Karma Revero sedan with an all-electric drivetrain and 250 miles (402 kilometres) of range.

Karma claims that almost all of the Gyesera's exterior body panels have been modified, with the exception of the rear body panels. The 5,077mm long car boasts a sharper nose with no grille, a sleek profile, translucent taillight design and an aggressive rear bumper.

Despite the updates, the body proportions remain identical to previous Karma cars. In fact, we are looking at a much-evolved Fisker Karma, which debuted in 2011 with great difficulty and delays. Fisker later went bankrupt and the rights to the Karma sedan were acquired by China's Wanxiang Group. The Fisker Automotive legacy was subsequently renamed Karma Automotive and the Fisker Karma was renamed Karma Revero. The Revero was supposed to have an all-electric version, the GSe-6, but the Gyesera came instead.

Inside, the Karma Gyesera is also quite similar to the original Fisker Karma, albeit with a larger touchscreen display on the centre console and a different steering wheel design. Karma Automotive president Marques McCammon told Automotive News that the Gyesera has a "completely different" battery design and offers "significantly different" performance.

The battery pack has a capacity of 120 kWh and offers a range of more than 250 miles (402 kilometres). The Gyesera is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 598 hp (440 kW) and 939 Nm of torque. Karma claims 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) acceleration in less than 4.2 seconds and top speed will exceed 135 mph (217 km/h).

The Karma Gyesera is scheduled to be launched in late 2024 or early 2025. In four to five years, the company plans to produce only about 2,000 units at its California plant. According to Automotive News, the electric car will cost between $175,000 and $225,000

The Gyesera will be followed by the Kaveya, a two-door electric sports car announced last year that is not expected to debut in production form until late 2025 at the earliest.
