Mercedes-Benz has revealed the new Actros L diesel truck, featuring a cab based on the design of the electric eActros 600 showcased last year.

Thanks to a more aerodynamic cab, fuel consumption has been reduced by 3%. Another 4% can be saved with the modernized OM471 engine.

The third generation of the 12.8-liter OM 471 diesel engine is designed to reduce Total Cost of Ownership without compromising on performance, driving dynamics, or comfort. It offers fuel-efficient driving, reduced CO2 emissions, lower operating costs, and higher returns. This engine is available alongside the OM 470 and OM 473 diesel engines.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has introduced two new turbochargers with the third generation of the OM 471. In the version designed for long-distance transportation, the main goal is to achieve the lowest fuel consumption possible. In combination with the revised exhaust gas aftertreatment system, this turbocharger enables maximum fuel savings.

The Actros L is available with three cab options: StreamSpace, BigSpace, or GigaSpace. However, the Actros F and Actros SLT will be equipped with the old-style cab. While cameras are the default option, mirrors remain available as an alternative.

The new Mercedes-Benz Actros truck comes equipped with rearview cameras and an additional camera on the windshield, as well as four ultrasonic radars at the front and rear and one millimeter-wave radar.

The Actros L will be available for ordering in April 2024 and is scheduled to begin production in December of the same year.
